We need your help!!!!
With the increase in Reptile popularity and local shows, these animals have now been put in the same situation as dogs and cats.  The "throw away" effect has surpassed the fuzzy and cute market and has now bled into the reptile and exotic community.  Most local Animal Control/SPCA's are not equipped to take in reptiles, therefore leaving the small rescues and Herp Societies to bear the burden of these homeless critters.  The battle for donations is difficult when competing against groups that have tv commercials / programs, weekly news ads and mailing lists 10 miles long.  Please consider donating to the small groups that are struggling to keep afloat and who fund most of their rescues "out-of-pocket".  They need your help more than ever!
Iguanas now exceed Burmese pythons in the rate at which they are being discarded by owners!!
"It's too big, It's not nice, It costs too much to feed, It's sick...." are just a few of the owner complaints.  New owners feel the cost of health and well being is far too great for a $25 lizard.....so owners are dumping them and buying new.  The cost of upkeep on large reptiles is not cheap and new owners are just realizing what these costs are!  While we never turn an animal away, we have a "no-kill" policy and many animals here at ACR will most likely never be adopted due to size, temperament and upkeep cost.  PLEASE be responsible and make sure you can give these animals the care they will need for their entire life!
Please Donate!!
UPDATE:
We would like to thank everyone for their hard work, compassion, dedication and devotion to the animals involved in the Stewartstown case.  The trio was convicted of 63 animal cruelty charges and 1 harassment charge.  The fines totaled near $50,000.00 and 90 days jail time per charge.  This was a very long journey for many...but more so for the animals who are now ready for adoption.  Please remember, these critters have been through a lot and are looking for FOREVER homes!!!!

Alligator found in Penn Township!!!!
Ok people....alligators are NOT indigenous to Pa. They can NOT survive in our climate and it is obnoxiously STUPID to release them!!! Besides the fact that they will most definitely die, endangering our wildlife and community by dumping or "releasing" because you don't want to care for an exotic animal that you CHOSE to take on is both foolish and ILLEGAL!! This boy could have severely hurt someones pet or worse yet a child or adult. PLEASE research a pet before you consider "buying" it. Alligators DO NOT belong in PA and should not be kept by amateur reptile hobbyists!!k people....alligators are NOT indigenous to Pa. 6 Dogs Orphaned!!!
On 6/5, we received a call that
multiple animals were orphaned and in
need of our help.  Upon arrival, the
animals were scared, confused and living
in conditions that were unsanitary.  Their
caretaker passing away 9 days prior
        and unfortunately, none of the
        animals were ever vetted.  Jesse
was in the worst condition.....  He has demodex mange that was left           untreated and has secondary yeast infection throughout his whole           body.  He is missing a large amount of hair and his skin is rough,

raw and horrible itchy.  Jesse is now also blind due to lack of Veterinary care.  We decided to do every
thing possible to make him comfortable and give him a chance to be healthy again.  He will most likely
need to have his left eye removed in the near future once we get his skin condition under control.  We have started a fund in Jesse's name to help raise money to cover his medical expenses.  Since we are not government funded, we survive through donations alone.  Jesse is such a sweet and loving dog....please help us give him a chance!!!!!
